This season, the Girls Varsity Tennis Team has been serving up wins and strengthening its chemistry both on and off the court. With a current record of 10–3–3, the squad has battled through tough matches, thrilling tiebreakers and plenty of memorable moments together.
To capture the highlights, challenges, and overall journey of the season, team representative Annika Shivaram shared her perspective in an interview.
Shivaram shared that one of the biggest highlights of the season has been the team’s unity and spirit. She explained that the players always lift each other up when they are down and cheer each other on, which keeps everyone focused, while still having fun.
Reflecting on the team’s early struggles, Shivaram recalled how nerves got the best of them during their first match, which they narrowly lost by 2 games. Since then, she said, the players have learned to manage the pressure of close matches, where every point counts.
Shivaram described the season as a true success, noting that their consistent practice, strong team spirit, and camaraderie have made all the difference. She explained that while winning feels rewarding, the team’s biggest accomplishment is how much they’ve grown together both on and off the court.
From an outside perspective, the tennis team’s energy on the court is undeniable. In a match earlier in the season, their fast-paced play and sharp communication led them to a strong win. The momentum never slowed down, and it was clear that their chemistry was just as important as their skill.
As playoffs approach, the team remains focused and determined. Win or lose, this season has proven that the Girls Varsity Tennis Team is about more than matches; it’s about grit, resilience, teamwork, and the bonds built along the way.
