Over winter break, the Girls Varsity Soccer Team traveled to Santa Clarita to compete in the Hart Tournament, a historic tradition at Prep. The trip was a challenging but rewarding experience, as the team prepared to face three Division 1 opponents while strengthening chemistry ahead of league play. Staying together overnight at a hotel allowed the players to build connections off the field and focus fully on the competition.
The tournament began on December 26th with a closely contested match against Birmingham High School, which ended in a 1–0 loss. Despite the result, the team remained focused and supportive, staying on the field to watch other games and recover together before the next match. Later that day, the team faced Valencia High School and earned a hard-fought 1-1 draw in a competitive game that was all about teamwork. After two demanding matches, the team returned to the hotel to rest and prepare for the final game.
On the morning of December 27th, the team closed out the tournament with a strong 2-0 win against Canyon High School. The victory reflected improved communication and confidence on the field, allowing the team to finish the trip on a positive and motivating note.
Off the field, players bonded by sharing meals, spending time together at the hotel, and supporting one another throughout the trip. These shared experiences strengthened team chemistry and helped create a sense of unity that will carry into league play.
Overall, the Hart Tournament provided valuable competition against strong opponents while giving the team important time to grow together, both on and off the field, before the start of the league season.
