Why are you writing for the Flintridge Press?

Everyone has a voice. At the Flintridge Press, we strive to cultivate an empowering, open environment for students to write about their interests and perspectives on a variety of topics. As each member of the staff often holds different views or areas of focus in their writing, we represent a microcosm of what the Prep experience is about, learning inside the classroom from our teachers as well as outside from each other. I write for the Flintridge Press because I believe in the power of our words to inspire meaningful discourse. The newspaper has been a transformative opportunity for my writing and I hope to share my own experience with the wonderfully talented and passionate staff writers who similarly seek to strengthen our community through our words.
